Assessments
Are there compulsory assignments or exams?
All modules are assessed using either assignments or exams which are compulsory.
Once you are registered for a module you will receive detailed information on submitting assignments as well as when and where you will be expected to sit your exam.
What is the difference between an assignment and an examination?
An assignment is completed in your own time and not under exam conditions and it must be completed within the timeframe indicated for that particular module and piece of work.
An examination is an assessment undertaken, under examination conditions, at an exam venue.
Once you are registered for a programme you will receive detailed information on submitting assignments as well as when and where you will be expected to sit your exam.
Where can I sit my exam?
We have exam venues around the country and we will help you find the most convenient location for you.
If you are currently working in a CLC or SRA regulated practice, we can arrange for your exam to be taken at your place of work. You will need to arrange for a suitable office space and invigilator (CLC or SRA registered).
Alternatively, you can sit your exam online, using remote invigilation.
I've finished my final assessment. What happens next?
I have passed all my modules. How do I obtain my Certificate?
Certificates are issued by the awarding body SQA on completion of the full SQA Diploma.
If you have purchased a single module, a module certificate will be sent to you on completion of that individual module. Certification for module certificates takes place twice per month.
The SQA Diploma certificate is only issued on completion of all the units within the Diploma.
Certification for candidates, who achieve the full CLC Diploma, takes place twice weekly.
