The Council for Licensed Conveyancers (CLC) and Access Law Online (ALO)
In the past, the Council for Licensed Conveyancers delivered their own suite of qualifications for students who wanted to become Conveyancing Technicians or Licensed Conveyancers.
In October 2015, CLC announced a partnership with the Scottish Qualifications Authority (SQA) to deliver a suite of conveyancing and probate qualifications. The SQA is an Ofqual recognised awarding body and they develop, assess and quality assure the qualifications to industry standards, with CLC's expertise and guidance.
In order to provide the Level 4 and the Level 6 Diplomas in Conveyancing Law and Practice, ALO has be approved by the SQA. Our processes and material have been quality assured by SQA.
Ultimately, the Level 4 Diploma and the Level 6 Diploma will be issued by SQA who are the awarding body. And the CLC will only recognise the SQA Diplomas for applications to qualify as a Registered Conveyancing Technician or a Licensed Conveyancer.
