Can I study with Access Law Online around a full-time job and family?
Yes, and it is the point students raise most often. There are no fixed class times or campus days: the course lives on our online learning platform, webinars are recorded, and you study when it suits you. Several of our reviewers were working in a law firm, raising children, or both, while they studied.
★★★★★
"The flexibility of the platform has allowed me to fit my studies around my full time job, home life and children."
★★★★★
"A great flexible approach to gaining qualifications. I would highly recommend to anyone that would like the flexibility to study when it suits you and take the assessments/exams when you are ready."
★★★★★
"Great experience with them took me longer than I hoped but Access Law were amazing"
Do I need a law background to start?
No. The Level 4 Diploma in Conveyancing Law & Practice starts from the foundations of English law, so you can begin with no legal training at all. Several reviewers came to us as career changers or after years away from education. If you already hold a degree in another subject, our guide on how to become a conveyancer with a non-law degree explains your options.
★★★★★
"Structured and easy to follow learning, ideal for someone with no previous experience of law. Can complete the course within own timeframes with no pressure to sit exams until you feel ready for them."
★★★★★
"For anyone who has not had the opportunity to attend university, or who is returning to education later in life, I would definitely recommend Access Law Online. It is accessible, supportive, and perfectly designed for people balancing work, family and study."
★★★★★
"Clear, concise webinars. Felt well prepared for exam even though it was my first formal assessment for more than a decade."
How does exam booking work?
There are no exam windows. When you are ready, you apply for your exam and we arrange it within 14 days, six days a week. You can sit it online from home, at your workplace if you work in a CLC or SRA regulated firm, or at an exam centre. Reviewers often single out this "book when ready" approach, and the calm way exams are run.
★★★★★
"Learning at my pace, in my time, book exams only when ready!" ... "As a conveyancing paralegal, I particularly enjoyed the Conveyancing module, and the quizzes helped reinforce my understanding."
★★★★★
"In particular, Mark Smith, who acted as invigilator for some of my examinations. His professional, calm and supportive manner helped me feel more relaxed during what can be a very stressful experience."
★★★★★
"I felt well prepared going into each of the three exams, all of which were organised quickly and efficiently on demand. The results were also provided promptly, which was greatly appreciated."
★★★★★
"Easy to navigate online system. Tutors are responsive and helpful. Good communication and easy to book exams and raise questions."
What is tutor support like at Access Law Online?
Every module has its own tutors, a discussion forum and live webinars, and you can ask a question at any point in your studies. Reviewers describe replies as prompt and detailed, and several name the people who helped them.
★★★★★
"Access Law always responded quickly to queries and their website and online learning content is easy to use. The tutors are available to help if needed."
★★★★★
"I would also like to mention Louise Ainley, who was outstanding in advising me when I nearly withdrew from the course. She encouraged me to complete the Conveyancing module first, as it is my field of work. Passing that module motivated me to continue and succeed."
★★★★★
"I would also like to thank the Assessment Team, in particular, Rachel Price, who consistently provided prompt and helpful responses to my queries"
★★★★★
"The course materials are excellent, and the support from my tutor was outstanding."
★★★★★
"The webinar series has been especially useful for revising and feeling confident before exams and assessments. The tutors are quick to respond and always happy to answer questions."
What are the course materials like?
Each module combines video lectures, a full course manual, interactive activities, practice questions, recorded webinars and a revision and mock exam module. Knowledge Mapping at the start of each topic shows you what you already know and where your gaps are, so you can focus your time.
★★★★★
"I particularly found it useful having a combination of webinars, more specific video lectures and a comprehensive manual, as this provided different ways of learning and meant I could revisit topics in whichever format suited me best."
★★★★★
"The material is presented well and the follow up tests and knowledge mapping have ensured I can spot any gaps in knowledge."
★★★★★
"The training content is well presented and clear, the practice questions are extremely useful and the additional webinars really help to supplement understanding."
★★★★★
"Revision material was so handy and really helped me to understand my course properly and also prepare for the exam."
★★★★☆
"Easy to use website, easy to contact for support and lots of useful information and resources."
